How to get started…

1. Get the game at www.minecraft.net.
2. You can download a texture pack. I recommend Dokucraft. It’s very pretty. You just download the zip, open it, and dump the zip files into the texture folder. If you need more help, ask me.
3. You can get yourself a new skin at planetminecraft.com. All the cool kids are doing it.
4. Log in to the server (the IP address is lower in the post, and changes sometimes).
5. Consult the tutorials at the Minecraft wiki. And never stop using the Minecraft wiki. It’s your best friend.

Now lose yourself in the immersive world of Hammerdrinker

The lands of Hammerdrinker are named for the hero of legend, Lord Hammerdrinker, who slew many a Creeper, ofttimes using his battle-scarred face as his only protection. The problem with Hammerdrinker is… all the wizards. If something bad happens, you can be sure that a wizard did it.

Is this some kinda RP thing?

Not really, it’s just a theme to spark the imagination. Do you want to build a wizard tower? Go for it. Do you want to build a fort? Sure thing. We follow the basic “medieval fantasy” theme – a wizard did it.

The Rules of Play

• Don’t be a douche. That should be obvious. Don’t be a douche.
• USE SIGNS. Signs help other players know you’re using the land in question. Stick a sign on your house, on your dig sites, etc.
• Have fun.

Server Information:

IP Address: 67.171.64.85. (This is on my home network, so it is subject to change. If you can’t connect, check back here. If it still doesn’t work, contact me!)

Server Mods: The server runs on Bukkit, but you don’t really care about that. It runs Bukkit Essentials, which means there’s some permissions protections, an economy, and bonus commands for users:

/motd – Returns the Message of the Day
/rules – Returns the rules
/list – Lists current players
/balance or /bal – Returns your money balance

The server runs Citizens to make NPCs, but that’s for GM use to make the world more immersive.

Additionally, Runecraft is enabled. Using Runecraft may make you a wizard – you have been warned.

Log in, explore the neat starting area I put together, then set off in a direction and start Minecrafting!
