This category features posts about the game of Warhammer 40k. These posts are almost exclusively about the modelling and painting aspects of the game, since that’s what I’m most fond of.
No update on the Titan yet. No new videos yet. No quality photos of finished minis yet. No essays on ideas about D&D 5th Edition or reviews of board games or anything else yet.
But I did accidentally take a great minis picture with my phone, so here that is!
“Hold here, my brothers. The lighting is perfect.”
I have two more Imperial Knights in the assembly line (to make a nice round army of five Knights), so here’s a sneak peek!
And a sneak peek of my messy desk!
The Knights use Forge World heads – I already used the heads I liked from the kit, so it was time for some new ones. Also, the Knight on the left had a base decorated with the wreckage of a Warlord Titan! But no worries – I didn’t wreck a Warlord Titan model, I made some quick partial molds of chunks of the Warlord Titan, then cast those to make some wrecked pieces. (Hopefully, that doesn’t land me in any trouble with Games Workshop!)
More to come when these two (Veneratus, left, and Victoria, right) are finished!
Spinning Minis continues with Episode 3, Roboute Guilliman! The Primach of the Ultramarines doesn’t mess around, as the bloody corpse of a Chaos Marine on his base proves.
Plus, if you look closely at his base decor, you can see Guilliman’s wrench, which I assume is some sort of very dangerous weapon.
Check out Belisarius Cawl in spectacular 360 degrees – all 360 of them! Plus, as a bonus, Inquisitor Blackmoore, a kitbashed Inquisitor in Terminator Armor! Wowee!
The Save vs Blog YouTube Channel now has a new feature – Spinning Minis!
This web series will feature minis… spinning. Pretty simple. Plus, background music composed by yours truly! How fantastic! Here’s the first episode:
Great, right? These are Contemptor Dreadnoughts from my homemade Chapter, The Basilicans (who are, yeah, basically just the Ultramarines). Two of them are slightly converted plastic Contemptors from Betrayal at Calth, while the third is a Relic Contemptor from Forge World.
I do owe the blog a post with photos of those Contemptor Dreadnoughts all finished up, but in the meantime, enjoy Spinning Minis!

Hey fans! As we start into “Year of Painting 3” (because every year is a year of painting), I’m glad to say I’ve made a lot of progress (although not a lot of blogging). Last month, Games Workshop released what has become my favorite miniature of all time, Belisarius Cawl, Archmagos of the Cult Mechanicus.
The model is amazing, and everything I love about the Adeptus Mechanicus. He’s got loads of arms and whatnots, including an arm that just holds a walking cane. I painted him in three parts – the first was from his waist down (his robes and legs, not glued to his base to make it easier to get to his robot legs), the second was his torso and most of his arms, and the third was the right arm holding his power axe. I don’t usually go too far on sub-assemblies, but this was something near necessary.
Here’s a long-deserved update on the Mars-Alpha Pattern Warlord Titan! I’ve been hard at work on the titan, but not as hard at work on the videos and blog updates!
Have you ever wanted to see every piece of the Warlord Titan kit, find out its name, and get a generic idea how how it goes together? If so, you’re in luck! Here’s a video of a complete inventory of the Mars-Alpha Pattern Warlord Titan!
We’ve been absent for a while, but it’s been a busy summer. And during this busy summer, after saving and waffling, I finally bought my dream model – The Mars Pattern Warlord Titan. So, expect to see a lot of Warlord Titan blog updates in coming months.
